Special Litter Update - May 9, 2023
Here is a quick update on Oakley. Oakley had her ultrasound appointment yesterday, and Dr. Hutchinson confirmed she is pregnant. The ultrasound is simply a way to confirm a pregnancy at this stage. Ultrasounds aren't accurate in telling us the exact number of puppies the mother carries. However, Dr. Hutchinson did indicate that there could be anywhere from 4-6 puppies in this litter.
We go back in a couple weeks (appointment to be confirmed) for an X-ray, which will be the point at which we'll know how many puppies Oakley is carrying.

Several factors go into predicting color, but for this litter, we expect both Black and Blue Merle. In addition, we expect the puppies to be about 12-15 lbs when fully grown.

How Selection Day Works
Selection day is a big deal at Oak and Magnolia. This is where you find out which puppy will be part of your home and family. We know a lot of people are big on color and gender (we get it), but we like to try and help match you with the best dog for your situation. We've been around the puppies now for about 5 weeks and we have a pretty good idea which are the most active and which like to hang back and investigate.
To help you make a well-informed selection, we'll provide you with a basic description of what we have observed concerning each puppy's personality. Reality is, all puppies are cute and you will love whatever puppy you end up selecting, but we think that love will be a little deeper if you get a puppy that fits your lifestyle needs and home situation.
