Puppies Have Arrived!

Weekly Litter Update - June 8, 2023

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news! Today, Oakley gave birth to a beautiful litter of puppies, and we couldn't be more excited to introduce them to you.

We are happy to share that Oakley gave birth after 4.5 hours of labor, and both she and her puppies are doing well. Oakley has given birth to five male puppies and one female puppy, including two black and four merle-colored ones.

If you or someone you know may be interested in providing a loving forever home for one of these delightful Cockapoo puppies, please don't hesitate to contact us. We would be more than happy to share further details and discuss the adoption process.

Stay tuned for future updates as we document their growth and share more exciting moments from Oakley and her adorable puppies. Feel free to follow us on social media for regular updates, heartwarming pictures, and irresistible puppy videos.

Thank you for being a part of our extended family, and we appreciate your continued support and love for Oakley and her puppies. We couldn't be more grateful to share this incredible journey with you.

Announcing Litter Theme

All of us here at Oak and Magnolia love Cockapoos. We also happen to love spending time at the beach. For this Summer litter, we combined those two things and gave all of the puppies island names. We hope the puppies will love the water as much as we do!

Litter Theme: Tropical Islands

  • Fiji - red collar - male

  • Maui - yellow collar - male

  • Capri - pink collar - female

  • Bali - blue collar - male

  • Kona - orange collar - male

  • O'ahu - green collar - male

Puppy Weight Tracker

In addition to snapping pictures and tracking the puppies' development, we will begin our weekly newsletter for the next eight weeks. These newsletters are our way of communicating updates, sharing pictures, and providing educational content. Starting next week, we'll populate the puppy weight tracker so you can watch them grow with us.

Article: The Importance of Grooming Your Dog

Grooming goes beyond keeping your Cockapoo clean. It also helps you stay aware of any health concerns such as lumps, bumps, cuts, or other problems so you can seek veterinary care early should the need arise.

The sooner you introduce your puppy to the grooming process, the more quickly she will accept it. For brushing and nail trimming:

  1. Place your puppy in a secure place.

  2. Go slowly, offer treats, and give lots of praise.

  3. If you are met with too much resistance to nail clipping, go back a step and try holding the paws for 10 seconds every day.

That will get your puppy used to having her paws handled.

One of the most endearing qualities of a Cockapoo is its thick, beautiful coat. Cockapoos can have long, medium, or short hair with tight curls or waves. This hair is prone to tangles and, if left unchecked, can turn into mats. Mats are clumps of tangled hair stuck together, making a huge mass of hair. Mats sit close to the skin, making it difficult to brush out. Failure to address tangles and mats promptly can lead to painful skin problems for your puppy.

Another beautiful quality of the Cockapoo is its long floppy ears. However, failing to keep your dog's ears clean can turn into costly and painful ear infections. We recommend that you weekly or bi-weekly perform basic ear cleanings. Use a wet cotton ball with a pet-safe ear cleaner to wipe the inside of the ear. A small amount of cleaner will naturally drip down into the ear canal. Gently massage the base of the ear with your fingers. Stand back and let your dog shake her head. Then use the cotton ball to wipe the ears out gently. Never stick a cotton swab into your dog's ear canal, as you can rupture her eardrum.
